| Sunday October 30th Christmas Toy Run for The Children's Home of Reading PA for kids that have been abused. Sponsored by Bike Riders Owners Social (BROS) MC Club they have been supporting the home for 27 years. This year the home for the second time had four young kids taking on the makeover of a Harley-Davidson MC. These young kids had to do everything except the painting. There were mentors who led them step by step. Then there was a contest to name the MC. The young man that won the contest named it the Penny Bike. He used himself as an example of one cent penny on the ground and no one stops to pick them up because they are not usefull and no one wanted him. When he started working on the bike, everyone worked together. The mentors took the time to explain everything about the makeover. The paint color is Black & Copper. On each side of the gas tank is a emblem of a Copper Penny with President Lincoln with the date of 1997 for the year the young boy was born. On the rear fender is the emblem of the Lincoln Memorial. They held a raffle for $5.00 a ticket and raised over $31,000 for the Children's Home. They are looking for another bike to makeover maybe this one will be a "Trike". Lets hope they get their WISH. Three members of PA Chapter 2 Red Knights and one guest attended. Robert Hogan-Ray Kolb-RPScott and guest Roger Kolb. |
