| On Saturday Morning October 20 2012 Three members of the Red Knights meet up with some good friends and family of the late Jane Gordon. You may recall Jane and her husband were struck on the bike later summer Jane unfortunately passed from her injuries and her Husband Gary is still battling is injuries suffered that day.
This ride was set up by some friends of Jane and was to remember and honor her by riding around Lancaster County looking at covered bridge something Gary and Jane did regularly. The ride know as Jane Gordon Covered Bridge Tour started at the Pool Forde Cover Bridge at Rt 23 and Poll Forge Rd in Carnarvon Lancaster County. The ride was to be a 120 mile trip riding through and stopping at some 18 covered bridges.
At about the half way point of the ride everyone stopped and enjoyed a delicious meal at JoBoy's Brew Pub, before continuing through the rest of the ride.
After a stormy night and foggy morning the weather turned out to be great for riding. The fall foliage made for some great scenery and the day was a great success. The members of the Red Knights would like to thank Jane's family and friend for a great day of riding.
All proceeds from the ride was benefiting the Vanguard School Programs were Jane worked. |
