On Saturday April 3rd 2010 eleven members of Red Knights Pennsylvania Chapter 2 traveled north to meet up with Pa. Chapter 17 for the first of many scheduled rides this season in our quest to complete the Grand Tour series.

What is a Grand Tour you ask? A Grand Tour is what International uses for members to get out to other stations and promote the club. Members have five ways to do this, after completion of these rides they receive a patch and a rocker after submitting photos for proof that they visited the station(this does not have to be done in any specific order). On three rides members have to visit stations that spell out the words GRAND TOUR, FIRE HOUSE, or RED KNIGHTS. One members has to visit stations starting with every letter in the ALPHABET. The last way is to just visit TWELVE STATIONS, this is what we did today.

Pa. Chapter 2 members met at 8am at their meeting point Routes 100 & 113 in Lionville from their members traveled 100 to 422 into Linfield where they met up with Pa. 17 at the Linfield Fire Company.
Dan Miller, the organizer of the ride, was overwhelmed by the outcome of knights from both chapters. All in all we ended up with 25 bikes and 30 people. Around 9:25 members of both chapters lined up for the official picture in front of Linfield's engine. The plan for the day was to go to twelve stations in this order- Linfield, Humane, Trappe, Perkioman, Lower Providence, Worcester, Harleysville, Lunch at the Blue Comets motorcycle club house, Skippack, Schwenksville, Lower Frederick, Sassamansville, and last but not least New Hanover. The ride went off as planned with only one minor casualty as one bike lost a battery between stop five and six. A battery was not available in the area however that member met back up with the group later and rode bitch with another member. The day ended around 4pm at New Hanover and Chapter 2 members were back home by 5pm with their families.

This is the first time in several years that chapter 2 met with another chapter to do a ride, we would like to thank President Grimm from chapter 17 for the invite and hospitality throughout the day. We would also like to thank Dan Miller for all the leg work that was done for this ride. The ride gave us all the opportunity to catch up with some old friends and show the spirit of the club.

A thank you also goes out to the Blue Comet motorcycle club for the use of the pavilion for lunch, you have a wonderful facility there, keep up the good work. This lunch stop was the first opportunity for Chapter 2 to see the brick that was purchased for the memorial walk that is located at the Blue Comet facility "Look Great Guys".

Next scheduled ride is Sunday May 16th FIRE HOUSE we hope to see everyone there.
